Emma passed CGC test!

Passing the cgc (canine good citizen) test has always been one of my training goals. I have been practicing with Emma for a while taking classes and just working on things. Training to me is a never ending journey and we are not done just because we passed a test. The cgc test has 10 items and I will leave a link below so you can see them in detail yourself. The first item on the test includes polite greeting. first the friendly stranger will come up and shake your hand while your dog stays sitting, then the person will pet your dog while sitting, the dog can stand up but can't jump or be nervous. then they check dogs ears handle their feet and brush them. This was my most nervous test item because Emma is very excited for new people so we practiced sitting for petting with new people a lot. My friend came over and walked away every time Emma stood up for some extra help. I was extremely nervous during test day and it was a real struggle for me to get it together. No treats or harnesses during the test either. There was a lot of dogs in the room for the test and we went around the room and did 1 test item at a time per dog, instead of each dog doing the whole test then the next dog. 2 dogs out of a whole room of dogs passed the test on the day we took it, but I was really happy we finally took the test and passed. I had been putting off the test because I never felt we were completely ready. The class we were in thought we would be ready and said everyone in level 4 can take the test and if you don't pass think of it as a practice, so that's what we did. I know that passing the test doesn't change who she is as a dog and we still have some practicing training to do but I am pleased and just getting to that milestone is a happy moment for anyone who is training their dog 😊

Cedar Point.

Everyone loves a nice summer trip to the amusement park. My husbands sister was in town in July and even though he had to work, most of the rest of his family headed on over to Cedar Point. Cedar Point is a nice fun trip for me, it's not too far to drive (about 45 minutes) but not too close that you get sick of going. I hadn't been since before Blair was born and I was excited to check out some of the newer rides. I rode the Rougarou (which I didn't like when it was the Mantis, and I still don't) the Gatekeeper, Millennium Force, Maverick, and much more. We went on a Thursday and the lines were great, we could walk on many rides without even having to wait longer than 10-15 minutes which is excellent, because on the weekends for a really new ride you could be waiting 3-4 hours. Overall I had a great time and we even stopped right outside the gates for lunch at Famous Daves!
I will insert a little video vlog of some of the trip.

Great Lakes Medieval Faire

I can't believe I never made a web post on the Great Lakes Medieval Faire! We went in July for a friends bachelorette party, because she was having a medieval theme wedding. It was such a fun trip. It took about 3 hours from where we live to reach the faire. We left early, besides my blunder of forgetting the tickets, and getting a speeding ticket, and arrived pretty much on time though we did miss the opening because we got off track to stop at rite aid for some items we had left at home. We all wore costumes.

Costumes are fun, but sometimes they make you a little warmer too. The faire had food, shops, shows (which I wish I saw more of), pets, and some medieval activites. I ended up getting a migraine and had to leave a few hours before some of the others which was a bummer. Some people even brought their pets!

The people who work at the faire and at the shops are usually dressed up too and are in character sometimes. It was fun taking a photo with this man! (I bought my pointy hat at this faire). You can I think rent costumes, buy outfits, and wear accessories while there. Also we rode an elephant which was pretty fun too.

The Washing Well Wenches, in my opinion, have the best show. The were so funny and the songs are catchy. Be on time to this one, and they do have audience participation. I would totally make sure to see their performance all the way through next time I go to the renn faire!

What is your favorite part of Renaissance festivals?

Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion

Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion

I had been using this lotion for a while, I bought it when I needed a new bathroom lotion ( I usually tend to buy Vaseline Intensive Care or Suave). I like lotions without a scent or at least without a strong scent, and these usually do the trick for moisturizing my hands without being greasy and without not doing anything. ( I feel that some scented lotions such as bath and body works lotions do nothing for moisture they only really provide scent and some slip). This lotion said it is strong as a prescription lotion on the bottle, while I've never tried a prescription lotion this one seems to do the trick in these cold winter months. Imagine my surprise when a new smaller bottle of this lotion was sent to me for my opinions. I had already been using it! I am happy to have the new bottle I keep it next to my bed at night. I really like this lotion it is just as good as the other Vaseline Intensive Care lotions and it keeps my hands feeling good in between hand washes. I am an obsessive person about applying lotion, I don't like the feeling of skin or washed hands, the feeling sends shivers down my spine. I apply lotion after I use hand sanitizer or wash my hands. I have also had to use lotion just randomly in between those times as we

ll if I do not have a great lotion, this one definitely does the job well in these cold winter months !
